Loving God

bible_worship1It is my greatest desire in life to inspire you to really love with all your heart and have a complete devotion to God.  Such a desire in us that we would all fall in love with Him and Jesus and the Holy Spirit, as the most precious of all the ones we love and want to please.  That we would be true daughters and sons and act like it, not only for our sake, but also in order to make Them happy, and bring Them pleasure, and truly be ambassadors and examples of Jesus Christ living in us so that this lost and dying world might see Jesus in us.

If we act, live for, concentrate on, be devoted to, love more than anything else or anyone else, and our strong and most burning desire in our heart is to please our Heavenly Father and the One who died for us, Jesus Christ God’s Son, and the Holy Spirit inside of us, then what joy and happiness we could bring to Him/Them (each One of the 3 parts of the Trinity).

First of all in John 15:7 it says, “But if you stay joined to me, and my words remain in you, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted!  8) My true disciples produce much fruit.  This brings great glory to my Father.”

Wow, it actually says we can bring our Father great glory!  Isn’t that why we are truly here?  Not to obtain a happy life, a comfortable life, a live of pleasure or ease, a life of prosperity in material goods, go places and travel, enjoy our hobbies and so forth, but to prosper spiritually storing up treasures in heaven where neither rust or mold can corrupt it, but to spend our lives bringing  glory to God (our real purpose in life) and to walk in obedience to all He has said in His Word.

It goes on to say in verse 10, “When you obey me you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love.  I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy.  Yes, your joy will overflow!” And in John 14:23 it says, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and My Father will love him, and WE will come to him and make our home with him.”

Wow!  Our joy it says doesn’t come from the things of the earth, but from obedience!  Then when we lay our head on our pillows at night and are ready to go to sleep, we can know in our hearts that we have been obedient that day, we have passed our tests when they came, and we pleased our Father.  Then we smile and are filled with joy, because we know we won the victory that day!  Just like a runner who wins the race, he is filled with joy and happiness because he won!  We too can feel that same joy and fulfillment and happiness by doing the above.  This kind of joy lasts, and doesn’t go away, and as we walk in the Spirit, it remains.  It doesn’t matter what the day brings, as God is in charge of our day as we commit it to Him to direct, but it does matter that we pass our tests like Jesus would, handle the adversities that come our way like He would, love others with His love, and respond to the Spirit instead of reacting in our flesh.

Now not only has God provided us with a way that we might be saved, but also He has promised that if we obey, He and Jesus would come and live in us, and then He would take us up to heaven when it is our turn to go home.  How much more wonderful can it get?  How much do we owe Him?  Our only desire and passion in our hearts should be to only want to make Him proud of us, and make Him smile and bring glory and joy to Him from our lives that He has seen fit to redeem because He loves us so much.  Oh the gratitude and thanksgiving we owe such a wonderful Father and Savior!

Yesterday, I was in my car and didn’t see a car coming, so I went forward to cross the lane and get into the lane fartherest out, and then right before my eyes as I was driving forward was a car flashing by me.  I hadn’t seen the car coming for some reason, I thought that both ways were clear to cross, but no, there was this car.  But by some miracle, I didn’t hit him!  I knew it was a miracle as I was headed straight towards the side of this car, yet for some miraculous reason I didn’t hit him.  I was really shaken, and all I could do was to just thank God over and over again all day long for not letting me hit that car.  I was so thankful that I didn’t mess up someone else’s life because of my mistake, and cause pain and suffering to another innocent person.  Oh what a great God we have.  How He protects His children every day from so many bad things happening to us.  Who else can do this for us?  Who else can watch over us like that, protecting, loving, providing, caring for, healing, and saving us for Himself for eternity?  No One!  Oh how much we owe Him, and yet can never repay the debt, but we can purpose to love, honor, and obey Him with all our hearts.

Love you guys! Jackie
