( Video – Click to Watch/Listen ) This is nothing less than amazing insight that certainly seems to apply to many aspects of society as a whole. Although Paul Harvey was a secular radio personality, he had a love for God and a special insight into various aspects of culture.
I love the fact that God created everyone and every culture differently. It gives us all the ability to try new things, experience new adventures and take joy in what makes us all unique. My son, daughter in law and granddaughter live in the Philippines on the island of Cebu and they say that Lechon is one their favorite foods.
God has so many attributes that He wants to display and He has chosen us to be the vessels to display His attributes through. I can just see us at the judgment seat all being rewarded for what we have done and the attributes manifested in each other like: love, kindness, caring, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, tolerance with one another, compassion, a desire to protect & nourish, that each one has been given to display. So we can also look for these attributes now in each other, & appreciate each individual who God has made for the different yet visible attribute which we see in another person which really stands out in their life.
Although we may feel that there many in ministry who possess outstanding gifts, the Lord has given us a unique responsibility to love and show His love to others. Our purpose is to be a light right where we are at the moment and in whatever circumstance we are in. The Lord desires us and in fact has called us to show “HIS” love to others by allowing the fruits of the Spirit to flow through us. To love, help, comfort, and encourage those around. At times, we forget that we are a vessel that He wants to use for His glory, but instead we get bogged down in the minutia of life that is intended to distract us from what God wants us to do.
When I wake up in the morning and think about how awesome God really is, I cannot help but think about the scripture in Philippines that says “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength”. This does not just mean that I can name something and claim it for the Kingdom, but I realize it means that if I am seeking the Lord, and if my desires and ambitions are truly in His, then he will give me the strength to do anything He desires. At times I know God desires something of me, but at times such things may seem impossible. Then I am reminded that He will give me the strength and in Him I can accomplish anything. If the Bible says that He can move mountains, then how much smaller of a feat is it to do what seems impossible in my own life. God is so amazing and I am so thankful.
For me the key is this: I must truly be seeking the Lord and abiding in him, so I can understand what he really desires of me and what he wants me to accomplish for his glory.
Now we need to align ourselves not only with God but also with our husbands, family and the Body of Christ. The word submission is a very important command that we wives have been given by the Lord. We don’t like this word very Continue reading
